Today, I noticed that an employee of their company posted a request for help on a forum. Apparently, he was having some trouble with a database connection script. While this is not a problem in itself, the employee posted the entire connection script without blanking out the passwords. The user name and password that is in the script is the master password for the company. It not only has access to our database, but hundreds of other schools as well.

While this probably was unintentional, the fact remains that it was done. We have had other security issues with this company in the fact, too. This lets anyone with knowledge enough to setup a ODBC connection read/write/delete our data. What are our options? Can we sue for Breach of Confidence? Maybe a class-action lawsuit with other schools? Thanks for any advice!

And what are the following ports for (listed in ZA firewall settings)?
-outgoing NetBIOS (ports 135, 137-139, 445)
-incoming ping (ICMP Echo)
-outgoing ping (ICMP Echo)
-other incoming ICMP
-other outgoing ICMP
-incoming IGMP
-outgoing IGMP
-incoming UDP
-outgoing UDP
-incoming TCP
-outgoing TCP

And which ones should I block without completely comprising functionality?

“A new certificate has arrived for channel ‘compaq connections.’
It will be used to digitally sign channels contents. Do you wish to accept this cert. (yes/no).
The ‘certificate’ reads as follows:

When I click no and X off the pop up, the system error reporting pop up comes up.
Also note the exp. date of March 2005 above as stated on this.
Am I correct this is suspicious?

Well my Norton Internet Security 2005 is working fine except “Intrusion Detection”. While I try turning it on, it gives me an error message saying “An error has occurred. If this error occurs again, uninstall and reinstall the product. I can’t do this because Norton is already pre-installed onto my computer. Although the only way to fix this issue would be a Factory Default. I don’t really want to do this because I don’t want to lose my data. If anyone has a solution please tell me. Thankyou in advanced.

Also, whenever I open the Internet Security, it gives me the same message. Everything works fine still, except “Intrusion Detection”.
